Job summary

3M’s Prairie du Chien facility seeks an HVAC Technician to maintain and service HVAC systems, pumps, chillers and cooling towers. The role emphasizes safety, timely execution and adherence to plant policies, with an 8-hour day shift.

The technician will work with Automated Logic and various control systems, participate in energy/water treatment programs, and may require overtime, weekends or holidays as needed, while maintaining Certification compliance.

Qualifications

• Must possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
• Currently possess or in the last seven months of obtaining a technical degree in an HVACR field or a minimum of five years of industrial maintenance experience as an HVACR / Facility equipment technician

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and repair-type maintenance on HVAC and support equipment including pumps, steam traps, heat exchangers, refrigeration systems, compressors, condensers, evaporators, chillers, cooling towers, water treatments, air handling units and humidifiers.
• Work with pneumatic, electric and DDC controls (Automated Logic System) on HVAC equipment.
• Handle a variety of refrigerants and obtain necessary state/federal EPA certifications for CFC refrigerants.
• Overtime, weekend work, holidays, and short-notice shift coverage as needed.
