Job summary

Gerdau is seeking an experienced HR Manager I to lead human resources initiatives at the Wilton Mill, overseeing employee relations, recruiting, compensation, training, and safety for approximately 230 employees. The role reports to the Wilton Mill Plant Manager and requires ensuring compliance, implementing policy, and driving workforce planning and engagement across locations.

A four-year degree in HR or related field is required, with 7+ years in HR and 2–3 years in industrial manufacturing

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in HR or related field; graduate degree or professional certification preferred.
• 7+ years of human resources experience.
• 2-3 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing setting preferred.
• Excellent consulting, client management and business literacy skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage HR processes for Wilton Mill and downstream locations.
• Oversee employee relations, recruiting, wage/salary administration, training and development, performance management, safety, benefits and services.
• Coordinate compensation, benefits and job descriptions; ensure equitable internal pay practices.
• Lead talent management, succession planning and employee engagement initiatives.
• Ensure legal compliance and provide policy guidance; support management on restructures and workforce planning.
• Conduct performance evaluations and coordinate performance improvement processes.
• Support expatriate matters and international HR as needed.
