Job summary

Jensen Landscape Services in Roseville, CA is seeking a Plant Healthcare Technician to support our growing outdoor maintenance team. You will perform turf and plant spraying, mix and apply chemicals, and maintain accurate chemical-use logs under manager supervision.

This role emphasizes safety, vehicle and equipment care, and adherence to PPE standards. Candidates should have knowledge of pesticides, herbicides, fertilization, and basic PDA proficiency.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of pesticide, herbicide and fertilization techniques and tank mixing quotients.
• Basic understanding of chemical reactions and potentiates.
• License preferred: Certified Operator/Qualified Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Maintain company standards in all interactions with clients and personnel.
• Perform plant healthcare maintenance including turf and plant spraying as directed by manager.
• Mix and maintain chemicals per manager instructions.
• Fill out and maintain chemical use logs accurately.
• Ensure company vehicle and equipment are operated and maintained properly; address malfunctions.
• Maintain safety standards on every job and during company property visits.
• Maintain uniform and PPE guidelines and attend meetings.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Description

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain company standards in all interactions, including but not limited to, interactions with clients and personnel
• Perform plant healthcare maintenance, such as turf and plant spraying, based on instructions from the manager
• Mix and maintain chemicals based on instruction by manager
• Fill out and maintain accurate and appropriate chemical use logs
• Ensure company vehicle and equipment are operated and maintained properly, including but not limited to initiating any action needed to remedy malfunctioning or unsafe equipment
• Maintain all safety standards on every job and while on company property
• Maintain uniform and PPE guidelines
• Attend to all meetings and work items in a timely fashion, as decided by the manager
• Other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required (unless otherwise noted):

• General knowledge of pesticide, herbicide and fertilization techniques, including tank mixing quotients
• General critical thinking skills as exhibited by ability to shift priorities based on weather conditions and chemical knowledge
• Basic knowledge and understanding of chemical reactions and potentiates
• Certified Operator/Qualified Supervisor license preferred
• Basic knowledge and skills with hand and power equipment used for pesticide, herbicide, and fertilization application
• Basic tech knowledge such as PDA and cell phone use
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers
• Strong conflict resolution skills
