Job summary

Jensen Landscape Services is seeking a pesticide care specialist to manage pest control and fertilization for commercial landscapes in California. You will apply treatments, calculate product quantities, and ensure safe handling of chemicals as part of a compliant maintenance team.

The role requires at least 2 years of pesticide operator experience, a valid California driver's license, and a state-issued pesticide license preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of commercial pesticide operator experience.
• Valid driver license issued by the state where employed.
• Pesticide License issued by the state where employed, preferred.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
• Strong customer service and urgency.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Perform fertilization, herbicide and pest management treatments on turf using approved spray equipment.
• Calculate product and carrier quantities.
• Properly mix and apply plant protection and/or fertilizer products using various types of application equipment.

Nature of Work:

Responsible for the successful prevention and/or treatment of pest and disease presence on commercial landscape.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Perform fertilization, herbicide and pest management treatments on turf using approved spray equipment
• Calculate product and carrier quantities
• Properly mix and apply plant protection and/or fertilizer products using various types of application equipment
• Safe Handling and use of all chemicals
• Properly complete required paperwork

Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• At least 2 years of commercial pesticide operator experience
• As required by state and federal law
• Valid driver license issued by the state where employed
• Pesticide License issued by the state where employed, preferred
• Strong sense of customer service and urgency
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks

Physical Demands and Work Conditions:

• Constantly required to talk, hear, see, sit, stand and walk
• Must be able to see at close vision, distant vision, peripherally, have depth perception and have the ability to adjust focus
• Frequent use of hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
• Frequently required to reach, bend, twist, stoop, crouch, climb and balance
• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and seldom lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Occasionally works with mechanical objects and outside in all weather conditions
• Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals
• Occasionally exposed to loud noise levels
