Job summary

Jensen Landscape Services is seeking a Plant Healthcare Technician to join our team in Milpitas, CA. Responsibilities include turf and plant spraying, chemical mixing, and maintaining logs while upholding company safety standards and PPE guidelines.

You will work under supervision with routine duties and participate in meetings, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of pesticide, herbicide and fertilization techniques.
• Basic knowledge of chemical reactions and potentiates.
• Ability to operate hand and power equipment used for pesticide/h herbicide/fertilization application.

Responsibilities

• Maintain company standards in interactions with clients and personnel.
• Perform plant healthcare maintenance and turf/plant spraying per manager instructions.
• Mix and maintain chemicals per manager instructions.
• Maintain chemical use logs and ensure safety standards on the job site.
• Operate and maintain company vehicle and equipment safely.

Job Description

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain company standards in all interactions, including but not limited to, interactions with clients and personnel
• Perform plant healthcare maintenance, such as turf and plant spraying, based on instructions from the manager
• Mix and maintain chemicals based on instruction by manager
• Fill out and maintain accurate and appropriate chemical use logs
• Ensure company vehicle and equipment are operated and maintained properly, including but not limited to initiating any action needed to remedy malfunctioning or unsafe equipment
• Maintain all safety standards on every job and while on company property
• Maintain uniform and PPE guidelines
• Attend to all meetings and work items in a timely fashion, as decided by the manager
• Other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required (unless otherwise noted):

• General knowledge of pesticide, herbicide and fertilization techniques, including tank mixing quotients
• General critical thinking skills as exhibited by ability to shift priorities based on weather conditions and chemical knowledge
• Basic knowledge and understanding of chemical reactions and potentiates
• Basic knowledge and skills with hand and power equipment used for pesticide, herbicide, and fertilization application
• Basic tech knowledge such as PDA and cell phone use
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers

Pay range: $28.00 - $32.00
