Job summary

Mariani Enterprises, LLC is hiring a Field Technician to maintain and enhance client landscapes. You will inspect properties, diagnose plant health issues, and apply IPM strategies using pesticides per state rules.

Ideal candidates hold an Indiana pesticide license (3A/3B), a valid driver’s license, and related horticulture degrees or hands-on experience. The role requires outdoor work year-round and coordination with account managers across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Valid Indiana driver’s license with insurable driving record.
• Indiana Commercial Pesticide Applicator License, 3A and 3B.
• Degree in arboriculture, horticulture, plant science, or related field, or equivalent hands-on work experience.
• Working knowledge of landscape plant and turf pests, diseases, and cultural disorders common to Indiana.
• Ability to work independently, manage a daily route, and maintain a positive, client-focused attitude.
• Experience with diagnostic or route-management software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled property inspections to monitor landscape plants and turf for insect, disease, nutritional, and cultural problems.
• Diagnose plant health issues and recommend IPM treatment strategies.
• Select, mix, calibrate, and apply pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, and fertilizers per label directions and Indiana regulations.
• Operate and maintain spray rigs, application equipment, and hand tools; perform daily equipment checks.
• Complete diagnostic reports, application records, and service documentation accurately and on time.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to Account Manager in a professional manner.
• Respond to client questions and concerns.
• Maintain current pesticide applicator licensing and complete required continuing education.
• Follow safety policies and EPA/OSHA/Indiana State Chemist requirements.

Job Overview

• Diagnose plant health issues in the field and recommend appropriate IPM treatment strategies.

• Operate and maintain spray rigs, application equipment, and hand tools; perform daily equipment checks and report mechanical issues.
• Complete diagnostic reports, application records, and service documentation accurately and on time.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to Account Manager in a professional, courteous manner.
• Respond to client questions and concerns.
• Maintain current pesticide applicator licensing and complete required continuing education.
• Follow all company safety policies and applicable EPA, OSHA, and Indiana State Chemist requirements.
• Coordinate with account managers and crew leaders on property conditions and follow-up work.

Qualifications

• Experience with diagnostic or route‑management software.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Work outdoors year‑round in varying weather, including heat, cold, and humidity.
• Safely handle and transport pesticides and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Drive a company vehicle between client properties daily.

Position Range: $26.00 - $29.00
