Job summary

Arbor Masters in Wichita, KS is seeking a Plant Health Care Technician to deliver pest control, fertilization, and plant health services directly to customers. You will discuss PHC needs, present solutions, and apply products while maintaining safety and service quality.

The role requires outdoor, physically demanding work, a valid driver’s license, and knowledge of labels. Certification and related education are preferred, with comprehensive benefits offered by the company.

Qualifications

• Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
• Must have a valid class C driver's license.
• Class A CDL preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently.
• Labor-intensive outdoor work with varying weather.
• Ability to navigate uneven terrain and lift 50 lbs+ regularly.
• Certified Pesticide Applicator License preferred.
• Industry experience or related Associates Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pesticide applications including fungicide, insecticide, and fertilizer.
• Identify basic insects, diseases, and trees.
• Interpret chemical labels clearly and accurately.
• Notify homeowners of work and review scope before starting.
• Inspect property for plant health concerns and document findings.
• Perform fertilization following SOPs, ANSI, A300 and OSHA safety rules.
• Complete daily truck maintenance checklist and report needed repairs.
• Operate equipment such as stump grinders and assist removal as needed.
• Travel between job sites using maps and directions.

We are putting down new roots and expanding the family business. We are currently looking to add a Plant Health Care Technician (PHC Tech) to our team of experts. As a PHC Tech, you will have the unique opportunity to communicate with customers and discuss their PHC needs, as well as selling and applying the needed products.

As a PHC Tech, you would be responsible for:

• Performing pesticide applications, including but not limited to fungicide and insecticide sprays, and fertilizer applications
• Ability to identify basic insects, diseases, and trees
• Identifying and comprehending chemical labels
• Contacting homeowners upon arrival at the job site, reviewing work to be performed and noting any changes or add-ons before beginning work
• Completing a thorough inspection/evaluation of the entire property for plant health concerns before leaving job site and submitting notes to supervisor, and collecting payment
• Performing fertilization services in accordance with AMTL standard operating procedures, ANSI
• A300 standards, and OSHA safety regulations and utilizing safety PPE
• Completing a daily checklist for truck maintenance (including notification of routine maintenance or repair for shop mechanics)
• Operating equipment such as stump grinders and assisting with stump removal as needed
• Traveling from one job site to another, utilizing maps, street guides, and other directional resources

Requirements:

• Must be a team player with a positive attitude!
• Must have a valid class C driver's license
• Class A CDL Preffered
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to follow directions and work independently
• Ability to complete labor-intensive outdoor work with exposure to a variety of weather conditions
• Ability to navigate uneven terrain, stand, walk, bend, crouch, reach, and lift in excess of 501bs on a regular basis
• Possession of a Certified Pesticide Applicator License is preferred
• Industry experience or Associates Degree in related field is preferred
