Job summary

Truetimber Arborists is seeking a hands-on Tree Care & Plant Health Technician to maintain healthy landscapes and support our outdoor crews. This role emphasizes operating equipment, site preparation, and plant health care while prioritizing safety and client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate enjoys outdoor work, has a valid driver’s license, and is willing to learn and obtain necessary licenses or certifications.

Qualifications

• Experience in tree care, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance.
• Ability to operate stump grinders, chippers, or chainsaws.
• Interest in trees, pests, soils, and plant health treatments.
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL or pesticide license is a plus.
• Willingness to obtain licenses or certifications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate stump grinders and assist with stump removal.
• Prepare sites and plant trees and shrubs.
• Load, haul, chip, and remove logs and debris.
• Assist with plant health care services including fertilization and pest management.
• Inspect trees and landscapes for health issues.
• Safely operate and maintain equipment.
• Support crews with setup, cleanup and traffic control.
• Follow safety procedures and PPE.
• Communicate professionally with crew and clients.
• Maintain clean, organized vehicles and work areas.

As a Tree Care & Plant Health Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining healthy, safe, and beautiful landscapes for our clients. Responsibilities

• Operate stump grinders and assist with safe, efficient stump removal


• Prepare sites and plant trees and shrubs using proper techniques


• Load, haul, chip, and remove logs, brush, wood, and other jobsite debris


• Assist with plant health care services, including fertilization, soil treatments, pest and disease management, and preventative care


• Inspect trees, shrubs, and landscapes for signs of insects, disease, nutrient deficiencies, or environmental stress


• Safely operate and maintain equipment such as stump grinders, chippers, chainsaws, sprayers, trailers, and other tree care tools


• Support tree care crews with jobsite setup, cleanup, and traffic or pedestrian control


• Follow all company safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment


• Communicate professionally with crew members, supervisors, and clients


• Help maintain clean, organized, and safe vehicles, equipment, and work areas

Qualifications

• Experience in tree care, landscaping, horticulture, grounds maintenance, agriculture, construction, or other outdoor work preferred


• Experience operating stump grinders, chippers, chainsaws, or similar equipment is a plus


• Interest in learning about trees, shrubs, pests, diseases, soils, and plant health treatments


• Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions


• Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb, and remain active throughout the workday


• Strong attention to safety, detail, and jobsite cleanliness


• Dependable, team‑oriented, and willing to learn


• Valid driver’s license


• CDL or pesticide applicator license is a plus but not required


• Willingness to obtain job‑related licenses or certifications as needed
