Job summary

Arbor Masters in Wichita, KS is hiring a Plant Health Care Technician (PHC Tech) to perform pesticide and fertilizer applications, inspect properties for plant health, and communicate PHC needs to homeowners. You will identify pests, follow chemical labels, and ensure safety protocols are followed on every site.

The role requires a team player attitude, valid driver’s license, and willingness to work outdoors in all weather. CDL is preferred and industry experience or related degree is valued.

Qualifications

• Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
• Must have a valid class C driver's license.
• Class A CDL Preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently.
• Ability to complete labor-intensive outdoor work in various weather conditions.
• Possession of a Certified Pesticide Applicator License is preferred.
• Industry experience or an Associate's Degree in a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performing pesticide applications, including fungicide, insecticide, and fertilizer applications.
• Identify basic insects, diseases, and trees.
• Read and follow chemical labels precisely.
• Contact homeowners on arrival, review work, and note changes before starting.
• Complete property health inspection and submit notes to supervisor, including payments.
• Complete fertilization per procedures and OSHA safety rules.
• Run daily truck maintenance checks and report needs.
• Operate stump grinders and assist with stump removal as needed.
• Travel between job sites using maps and guides.

As a PHC Tech, you would be responsible for:

• Performing pesticide applications, including but not limited to fungicide and insecticide sprays, and fertilizer applications
• Ability to identify basic insects, diseases, and trees
• Identifying and comprehending chemical labels
• Contacting homeowners upon arrival at the job site, reviewing work to be performed and noting any changes or add-ons before beginning work
• Completing a thorough inspection/evaluation of the entire property for plant health concerns before leaving job site and submitting notes to supervisor, and collecting payment
• Performing fertilization services in accordance with AMTL standard operating procedures, ANSI A300 standards, and OSHA safety regulations and utilizing safety PPE
• Completing a daily checklist for truck maintenance (including notification of routine maintenance or repair for shop mechanics)
• Operating equipment such as stump grinders and assisting with stump removal as needed
• Traveling from one job site to another, utilizing maps, street guides, and other directional resources

Requirements:

• Must be a team player with a positive attitude!
• Must have a valid class C driver's license
• Class A CDL Preffered
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to follow directions and work independently
• Ability to complete labor-intensive outdoor work with exposure to a variety of weather conditions
• Ability to navigate uneven terrain, stand, walk, bend, crouch, reach, and lift in excess of 501bs on a regular basis
• Possession of a Certified Pesticide Applicator License is preferred
• Industry experience or Associates Degree in related field is preferred
