Job summary

Rogers Group, Inc. is seeking a Plant Groundman at our Lacey's Spring Quarry in Lacey's Spring, AL.

The role involves general plant labor, operating heavy equipment, and adhering to safety policies to support production and maintenance in a fast-paced quarry environment. The ideal candidate will perform inspections, assist with various entry-level production tasks, and be prepared for overtime and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Follow all company safety policies and regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
• Ability to maintain safe working conditions.
• Self-motivated individual; must be able to perform required duties without constant supervision.
• Able to perform a variety of duties, including plant clean-up, maintenance, operating equipment and other duties assigned.
• Ability to learn quickly.
• Must be willing to work weekends and overtime.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• General plant/mine labor and clean-up of production areas, including shoveling stone from around conveyors and assist with plant clean up and operations.
• Operate a variety of heavy equipment and machinery.
• Perform daily pre and post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
• Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.
• Operate equipment with a high degree of safety and intermediate skill level.
• Being trained in various other entry level production positions and fill in as needed during vacations, absences, and increased production demand times.
• Report equipment problems and identify them to management.
• Light maintenance work and maintain the belt lines.
• Assist with plant operator duties as needed.
• Complete equipment pre-shift report – if applicable.
• Assist other workers as needed or directed and other duties as assigned by management.
• Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
