Job Description

The Plant Manager will oversee and lead plant operations, ensuring safety, quality, service, and cost targets are met. This involves providing strong leadership to the plant team and managing systems, equipment, personnel, and materials according to policies, procedures, and customer requirements. The role reports directly to the Director of Manufacturing, with direct reports typically numbering 4-8. The scope is a small to medium-sized facility with up to 300 employees and moderate complexity.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and foster a safety-first culture.
• Identify operational improvement opportunities through data analysis and KPI monitoring.
• Manage human capital planning, including hiring, development, and succession planning.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, fire protection, and environmental regulations.
• Communicate effectively with all plant staff.
• Manage process control initiatives and ensure SOP compliance.
• Lead plant budgeting and capital expenditure processes.
• Promote continuous improvement and best practices sharing.
• Drive employee engagement and safety culture.
• Achieve safety, quality, and operational KPIs, and meet financial targets.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field.
• 7-10+ years in a production environment, with leadership experience of 5+ years, preferably in flexible packaging.
• Proven ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
• Understanding of financial drivers of plant results.
• Six Sigma certification is highly preferred.
