Job summary

Comprehensive Logistics in Duncan, SC is seeking a Plant General Manager to oversee all plant operations, drive financial performance, and lead a high-energy team in a fast-paced 3PL environment. You will manage P&L, launch initiatives, and coordinate with automotive and third-party logistics partners to ensure safe, reliable operations.

The role requires lean processing expertise, strong customer interface, and a proven track record of launching operations, driving improvements, and delivering

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, materials management or engineering.
  • At least five years in operational logistics/supply chain roles.
  • Automotive and/or third-party logistics experience required.
  • Lean processing and continuous improvement experience.
  • Strong customer interface with 24/7 availability.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all plant operations and drive P&L performance.
  • Lead a salaried and hourly workforce and build customer rapport.
  • Manage project launches and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establish daily/weekly direction through direct reports.
  • Collaborate with corporate resources and lead lean initiatives.

We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, highly disciplined, and high-energy individual to lead the team as the Plant General Manager. A professional with extensive knowledge to oversee all plant operations and make crucial decisions for the company. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with the responsibility for all financial aspects of plant operations and have a familiarity with the third-party logistics and/or the automotive industry.

POSITION DISCRIPTION
  • Reports directly to the Head of Business Unit
  • Leading a team of salaried and hourly employees
  • Building rapport with current and potential customers

  • Create direction for departments by having daily and weekly meetings with the direct reports
  • Maintain and improve employee experience through employee engagement
  • Collaborate with our corporate resources
  • Direct, coordinate, and assign work activities to all employees under supervision in facility and monitor, review and evaluate work product, methods, and procedures of those employees
  • Understanding of lean processing principles
  • Responsible for driving continuous improvementEstablish and maintain effective KPI's, monitors performance and initiates improvement opportunities
  • Produce productivity reports and turn data into business cases to make fact-based decisions
  • Develops and manages operations budgets to ensure compliance with the company and the customer
  • Communicates with customers to handle any escalated partner service issues or complaints
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment
  • Enforce company policies/procedures and corresponding work instructions
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Materials Management and/or Engineering required
  • A minimum of five years of experience at an operational level related to Logistics/Supply Chain Management
  • Automotive and/or Third-Party Logistics is required
  • VAA or manufacturing experience is required
  • Sales experience and established network
  • Safety mindset
  • Start-Up, Equipment Installation and Launch Experience Required
  • Understanding and experience of assembly tooling and equipment and ROBOTICS
  • Strong Customer interfacing skills, 24/7 availability via cell phone
  • Strong knowledge and experience of problem-solving using Root Cause Analysis, Safety, Labor Relations, and Worker’s Compensation
  • Demonstrated experience with performing Layered Audits
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement and Lean Processing Principles
  • Demonstrated successes related to launching operations
  • Logistics/Supply Chain background to include proficiency in Third Party Services including Part Sequencing, JIT, Value-Added, Sub-Assembly, Kitting, Repack, Deconsolidation, and Bulk and Small Lot Metering preferred
