Job summary

Corning seeks an Assistant Plant Controller to support monthly close, cost accounting, budgeting, and forecasting in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You will partner with plant operations to analyze data, drive improvements, and ensure SOX/Gaap compliance, with extensive exposure to GL, asset management, and product costing.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance, 5+ years of manufacturing experience, and proficiency in Excel, SAP and related tools.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or equivalent technical degree required.
5+ years of manufacturing or relevant experience.
Proficiency in Excel, general ledger systems, forecasting tools.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment.
SAP, PeopleSoft, Longview, and Performance Excellence knowledge preferred (Six Sigma, lean).

Responsibilities

Close the financial books monthly, analyze actual results, and support monthly reporting.
Support accounting activities including fixed assets, inventory valuation, cost, budgeting, and forecasting.
Assist in annual budget and capital investments analysis with ROI/IRR/Payback.
Collaborate with plant personnel to identify cost reductions and maintain cost systems.
Manage inventory control, capital investment, and manufacturing variance reporting.
Ensure internal controls and SOX compliance; support tax and insurance filings.
Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports including variance analyses.
Back up the Controller in day-to-day financial operations.
