Job summary

Marzetti Company is seeking a Plant Finance Manager to partner with manufacturing leadership, drive cost clarity, and strengthen the accounting model to improve profitability. The role focuses on cost control, standard costing, and strategic financial support for plant operations.

You will manage BOMs, labor rates, and month-end GAAP entries, lead cost-savings initiatives, and mentor a finance team to ensure accurate, timely reporting and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CMA/CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of finance/accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong financial analysis, forecasting, and actionable insights.
• Knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Experience with SAP or ERP systems and advanced MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Partner with plant leadership on cost management and financial decisions.
• Educate plant partners on financial plans and results.
• Analyze costs, variances to plan and prior year.
• Build and iterate financial plans with cross-functional input.
• Create and maintain standard costing including BOM, labor, and production rates.
• Analyze variances to standard and identify efficiency opportunities.
• Prepare month-end journal entries per GAAP requirements.
• Maintain control procedures over accounting and financial activities.
• Drive cost savings opportunities.
• Provide cost estimates for new products to improve profitability.
