Job summary

Baxter in Batesville, IN is seeking a Plant Controller to lead the plant's end-to-end financials, partnering with the Plant Manager and operations to drive performance and accuracy across a $291M production base and $97M inventory with 335 direct and 184 indirect staff.

You will oversee month-, quarter-, and year-end closes, lead budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization, and internal controls, while advancing automation and digital reporting to support strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• MBA, CMA, or CPA preferred.
• Experience with standard costing and inventory accounting.
• Strong ERP and advanced Excel/financial modeling skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial operations for the plant including month/quarter/year-end close.
• Partner with Plant Manager and leadership to shape financial strategy.
• Oversee plant costing, variances, overhead allocation, and inventory control.
• Lead the annual operating plan (AOP), forecasts, long-range planning, and capital projects.
• Analyze manufacturing metrics and drive improvements.
• Maintain internal controls and SOX compliance.
• Champion process automation and digital reporting across plant finance.
• Coach leaders on financial literacy and accountability.
