Harley-Davidson Motor Company in York, PA, is seeking an Assistant Plant Controller to join the York Operations finance team. This role leads analytical support, financial management, and collaboration with operations to deliver monthly performance reports and recommendations.

The position oversees standard costing, month-end close, and cost of sales, while coaching others and driving process improvements. A Bachelor’s in Finance/Accounting and 5+ years in manufacturing are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles including balance sheet and GL.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• SAP experience and Excel proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial analysis with focus on understanding plant operations.
• Lead standard costing activities for the plant by managing routing updates, burden rate calculations and earned hours estimates.
• Assume leadership responsibility as necessary, including being an advocate for new ideas and serving as an example for coworkers.
• Responsible for coaching others including planning and assigning projects and tasks, reviewing progress, and evaluating results.
• Review, analyze and evaluate financial data for accuracy and consistency.
• Prepare and communicate key performance metrics for operations, including labor, production volume and inventory reporting.
• Oversee month end close process, including journal entries, expense analysis and development of cost of sales.
• Support internal and external audit requests and documentation.
• Participate in special projects, ad-hoc research and data analysis as needed.
