Job summary

Flowers Foods in Lafayette, LA seeks an Accountant/Finance Associate to assist the Controller in all accounting phases and ensure accurate financial statements. You will support bakery and sales stakeholders, ensure SOX compliance, and help with monthly, quarterly, and annual close. A BA in Accounting is required with 2–3 years of accounting experience.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in Accounting, internships included.
• Working knowledge of GAAP requirements.
• SAP ERP & BlackLine experience and SEC reporting requirements a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with weekly income statement estimates and preparation.
• Prepare and enter journal vouchers.
• Maintain weekly reporting (corporate and local).
• Assist with period, quarter, and year-end closing processes.
• Analyze general ledger accounts and prepare related schedules.
• Support accounts payable and customer trade receivables activities.
• Help in annual financial planning and budgeting processes.
• Participate in inventory management compliance and SOX controls.
• Maintain a clean work area and adhere to policies.
