Job summary

Aegis Worldwide in Fort Worth, TX, is seeking an Accountant I to support the preparation, examination, and interpretation of financial records in accordance with GAAP. You will work on the general ledger, month-end close, budgeting, and cost analyses.

The role involves plant expense analysis, reconciliations, journal entries, and coordination of accounts payable, with opportunities to learn ERP systems and advance in manufacturing accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
• Internship, co-op, or 1-2 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems preferred (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Infor, Epicor, NetSuite, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Assemble plant expense analyses and report updates for staff; coordinate accounts payable for plant operations.
• Prepare bank reconciliations for operating, disbursement, payroll, and investment accounts.
• Prepare specific monthly journal entries, sales tax returns, and warranty expense analysis.
• Analyze and reconcile discrepancies within general accounting; report to senior management.
• Settle and close production orders; investigate production variances.
• Provide research assistance and respond to internal inquiries.
• Assist as backup for payroll, daily invoicing, and sales updates.
• Observe GAAP and company policy; ensure compliance with regulations.
• Review purchase orders and report exceptions and expense levels to plant manager.
• Reconcile all expenses to budget; perform internal audits and cycle counts.
• Prepare trial balance analysis.
• Perform other activities as needed.
