Job summary

Tradebe Environmental Services is hiring a Field Services Technician at our East Chicago, IN facility. You will provide tank cleaning and remediation services across plant departments, with after-hour call-ins for emergencies and spills, under supervision of the Plant Field Services Manager and Project Lead.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year of industrial site cleaning/remediation experience, HAZWOPER training, and ability to work a 1st shift schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year experience cleaning/remediating equipment within an industrial site.
• Minimum one year experience cleaning above ground tanks.
• Experience with on-site operation of Tank Cleaning in a chemical plant or refinery.
• Valid driver’s license or State ID.
• Must successfully complete 40 hour HAZWoper training.
• Must pass a company physical and wear a respirator.
• Must be able to physically perform duties while wearing PPE.
• Must be able and willing to travel 5-10% within Midwest processing region.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work the schedule for which you are hired.
• Ability to work on-site as described in the job description.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all regulations and EHS compliance and promote a safe workplace.
• Clean tanks, distillation units, solid distillation systems and other plant equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment in the department.
• Perform cleaning and remediation activities within plant departments.
• Participate in after-hour call-ins as business needs dictate (spills, blockages).
• Operate hydro-blasting equipment for routine tasks and project cleanup.
• Ensure cleanliness of the task/work area after each job/project.
• Obtain and maintain confined space certification.
• Record tasks and dates for regulatory compliance and EPA/DVR regulations.
• Other duties as assigned

As a Field Services Technician you will provide tank cleaning and remediation services to all departments within plant on a scheduled, strategic basis and take direction from the Plant Field Services Manager and Plant Field Services Project Lead. The position requires the individual to be available for after-hour call-ins due to equipment emergencies, unforeseen remediation needs and situations of the like as business needs dictate.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Adhere to all regulations, standards, and internal policies, to ensure Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
• Clean tanks, distillation units, solid distillation systems and other applicable plant-based equipment
• Perform routine maintenance on applicable equipment within department
• Perform cleaning and remediation activities within plant departments
• Required to participate in mandatory after-hour call-ins as business needs dictate (unforeseen spills, equipment blockages etc.)
• Prepare and operate hydro-blasting equipment in preparation for routine tasks and projects in addition to breaking down and placing in storage upon project/task completion
• Ensure cleanliness of designated task or work area upon each job/project completion
• Obtain and maintain confined space certification
