Tradebe Environmental Services in Griffith, IN seeks an Environmental Field Chemist to handle hazardous waste packaging, labeling, and disposal, while ensuring regulatory compliance. This hands-on role includes data entry, sampling, and regulatory paperwork.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Natural Science or related field preferred.
• Labpacking experience preferred but not required.
• Basic understanding of hazardous waste regulations.
• Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Willing and able to travel and wear a full-face respirator.
• Ability to obtain a Class B CDL with Tanker HazMat endorsement within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Classify, package, and label hazardous waste for safe transport and disposal.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and internal safety policies.
• Complete regulatory paperwork accurately and on time.
• Sample materials and unpack hazardous waste at treatment facilities.
• Input data and research materials using company software.
• Operate a 26-foot box truck once CDL Class B is obtained (CDL training provided).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Previous labpacking experience preferred but not required
• Basic understanding of—or interest in learning—hazardous waste regulations
• Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Able to pass a physical exam, drug screen, and background check
• Willing and able to travel and wear a full-face respirator
• Ability to obtain a Class B CDL with Tanker HazMat endorsement within 6 months (CDL holders preferred)
