Job summary

Brightwing is seeking an experienced Plant Engineering Manager to oversee day-to-day engineering and maintenance functions in a manufacturing plant. You will standardize methods, materials, equipment, and manpower while providing technical engineering expertise to production lines.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 8+ years of engineering experience, preferably in automotive manufacturing, and strong leadership, problem solving, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in engineering.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing.
• Proven leadership and performance management abilities.
• Strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of part print reading, gage and tooling, and materials and processes.
• Familiarity with GD&T, QFD, DFM, DFA, VE, FEA, CAD, CAE, Reliability Engineering Plans, and SPC.

Responsibilities

• Controls all project/engineering activities for new business and engineering changes for existing products.
• Establishes labor and method standards for all processes in the plant.
• Coordinates activities of engineers to ensure adherence to time lines.
• Manages and directs the work of maintenance technicians.
• Ensures all proper documentation and standard engineering processes are followed.
• Interfaces with customers to communicate problems and solutions while maintaining a high standard of quality.
• Manages special projects as requested by the General Manager.
• Assess, train and develop subordinates.
• Responsible for all customer specific requirements where applicable, including those referenced in the QMS manuals.
• Frequent communication with all levels of management, corporate support groups, Quality Assurance, and plant personnel.
• Frequent communication with customers is necessary.
• Responsible for related safety requirements.
