We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering & Maintenance Manager to lead Maintenance, Tool & Die, Production Engineering, and MRO/Parts Room operations within an automotive manufacturing environment.
This leadership role will focus on equipment reliability, team development, continuous improvement, cost reduction, engineering initiatives, and supporting overall production objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and development across Maintenance, Tool & Die, Production Engineering, and MRO teams.
- Develop employee training and technical skill-development programs.
- Improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Develop and strengthen preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Lead continuous improvement, Kaizen, cost-savings, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Support production objectives through strong cross-functional collaboration and teamwork.
- Lead engineering support for new projects, including design feedback, equipment installation, and successful production launches.
- Identify and implement new technologies and process improvements within manufacturing operations.
- Develop effective systems for spare-parts inventory, controls, availability, and cost management.
- Partner with other facilities and teams to share best practices and improve maintenance and engineering performance.
- Establish departmental goals, performance initiatives, and improvement strategies aligned with broader manufacturing objectives.
- Maintain an active presence on the production floor to identify issues and support operational teams.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of upper-level management or senior leadership experience.
- Previous automotive manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- Experience leading maintenance, engineering, manufacturing, or related technical teams.
- Strong background in employee development and technical skills training.
- Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
- Strong root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.
- Experience with continuous improvement, Kaizen, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple departments and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
This position operates within both an office and manufacturing/shop-floor environment. The role requires regular interaction with production operations, including walking and standing on the manufacturing floor.
Some flexibility to work weekends or non-production days may be required based on operational or project needs, typically with advance notice.
