Job summary

Airgas is seeking a Plant Engineer in New Carlisle, IN to provide engineering support to zone operations and assist Plant Managers in resolving technical and operational issues. The role includes leading investigations of incidents, updating PHAs, P&IDs, MOCs and SOPs, and developing design and cost justifications for plant improvements.

Responsibilities include creating and approving Maximo job plans to boost efficiency, overseeing minor upgrades and retrofits, and ensuring compliance with FDA,

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of operational or engineering experience.
• BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with Air Separation Units and related processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support to the Zone operations.
• Assist Plant Managers in resolving technical and operational issues.
• Assist with investigation of operational incidents and development of corrective actions.
• Participate in creation, updates and reviews of PHAs, P&IDs, MOCs and SOPs.
• Create, review and approve job plans in Maximo to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Assist with equipment repair specifications to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Manage minor projects (upgrades, retrofits, plant improvements and expansions).
• Develop designs, cost estimates, and economic justifications for decisions at plant/zone levels.
• Generate ACE requests and follow-up on approvals.
• Oversee project execution with the Plant Manager to meet requirements on time and within budget.
• Participate in design and execution phases of corporate projects to address operational concerns.
• Promote compliance with regulations and group directives.
• Investigate and follow-up on HSE incidents.
• Periodically audit plants for FDA, safety and environmental compliance.
