Job summary

National Gypsum Company is seeking a Plant Engineer to ensure safe, efficient operation of plant equipment and facilities. The role reports to the Plant Manager and requires up to 25% travel with no hybrid option.

The position blends project engineering and process engineering, overseeing capital budgets, equipment installation, SOP/PM development, and process control upgrades. Strong electrical knowledge and PLC/AutoCAD skills are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
Minimum of two years manufacturing experience.
Strong PLC programming, AutoCAD, and troubleshooting skills.
Working knowledge of industrial electricity and motor controls.

Responsibilities

Assist in capital budgets by proposing projects, obtaining bids, and managing costs.
Complete installation of project equipment and develop SOPs/PMs for new projects.
Coordinate with Division Engineering and plant staff on engineering support.
Troubleshoot electrical/mechanical failures and implement process control upgrades.
Support maintenance with preventive and predictive programs and plant controls liaison.
