Job description

Our plant in Mountain Top, PA is seeking an experienced Plant Engineer responsible for maintaining plant machinery, including emergency repairs. The key duties include:

1. Managing the preventive maintenance program according to company policy.
2. Instructing the sanitation department on proper equipment operation, cleaning, and maintenance.
3. Assigning work to maintenance staff and monitoring departmental performance.
4. Enforcing safe work practices within the maintenance team.
5. Maintaining communication with production and sanitation supervisors to ensure product quality and timely completion of tasks.
6. Minimizing downtime by ensuring machinery is properly maintained and operational.
7. Training new maintenance employees effectively.
8. Submitting boiler and fire protection reports as required.
9. Keeping a daily log of repairs and incidents in the plant.
10. Assisting with equipment installation and investigating accidents within the maintenance department.
11. Ensuring the use of protective gear by maintenance staff.
12. Coordinating with the maintenance manager to expedite repairs and work assignments.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field, along with three years of experience in a similar role or as a maintenance supervisor in manufacturing. Specific experience should include:

1. Developing preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
2. Managing maintenance department budgets.
3. Creating key performance indicators for maintenance.
4. Overseeing major repairs or equipment installation.
5. Developing capital expenditure projects.
6. Implementing and designing PLC control systems for industrial equipment, with advanced knowledge of Allen Bradley programming.
