  • Interface with multidisciplinary design teams to establish structural design criteria and performance requirements.
  • Ensure licensing and code requirements are properly integrated into the design and aligned with regulatory strategies.
  • Perform oversight reviews of civil, structural, and architectural work products for project acceptance.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in civil, structural, and architectural integration for plant engineering decisions.
  • Coordinate multi-system structural analyses, including soil-structure interaction (SSI), seismic modeling, external hazard fragility, and probabilistic risk assessments.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance of design organizations, partners, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
  • Integrate plant design information into regulatory submittals supporting nuclear facility licensing.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: M.S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience: 10+ years in civil/structural design, analysis, and/or probabilistic risk assessment
  • Experience with new nuclear power plant design projects
  • Expertise in risk-informed, performance-based methodologies for external hazard design and analysis
  • Familiarity with structural design under extreme external hazards such as seismic and aircraft impact
  • Experience with commercial codes and standards: IBC, ACI 318, AISC 360, ASCE 7
  • Experience with nuclear codes and standards: ACI 349, ACI 359, AISC N690, ASCE 4, ASCE 43
  • Knowledge of NRC or DOE regulatory requirements
