Looking to hire a Plant Engineer for a Chemical Manufacturer. The Plant Engineer will provide technical expertise on a range of cross-functional projects, including process design, development, implementation and improvement, and maintaining equipment in a qualified state working closely with Maintenance. The position will report to the EVP of Operations and will be located in Crockett, Texas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for executing engineering activities to design, develop and implement new and improved processes.
• Conduct tests to evaluate the efficiency of new and existing processes and summarize results into technical reports.
• Troubleshoot problems with processes and implement changes as required.
• Schedule and coordinate projects to align with deadlines and budgets.
• Lead the Process Safety Management (PSM) Program along with the Safety Office, Process Improvement Manager and VP of Operations.
• Set internal audit cycles to review internal compliance and updates to MOCs.
• Along with the Maintenance Supervisor, document and follow up on the execution of maintenance plans that are economical and efficient.
• Develop a Preventative Maintenance Plan and analyze the costs of it to set up maintenance strategy.
• Participate in projects for plant expansion, increased capacity, equipment renovation, etc.
• Develop scope of work, prepare engineering proposals and cost estimates for management and board approval.
• In conjunction with the Safety Officer, conduct Root Cause Analysis to determine and eliminate root causes and document events.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to reduce waste and increase overall efficiencies.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering from four-year college or university.
• 5+ years of experience in Engineering
• CAD experience is Preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
