Job summary

Rise Baking Company seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to support the plant's equipment and facilities, ensuring reliable operation and strict adherence to food safety policies and OSHA regulations.

This role focuses on diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, performing preventive maintenance, and addressing building needs such as air conditioning and lighting, all while maintaining safety and quality in a fast-paced bakery environment.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree in electronics/maintenance mechanics or 3+ years in maintenance role.
• Experience with repair or preventive maintenance in hydraulics, pneumatics, machine shop, electricity, or electronics.
• Working knowledge of CMMS
• Working knowledge of lockout/tagout programs
• Working knowledge of boiler operations
• Experience with ammonia, freon, or other cooling media
• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office
• Ability to stick or TIG weld small repairs
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems with plant equipment (e.g., drive systems, HVAC, hydraulics, pneumatics).
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems with plant equipment (e.g., wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, motors).
• Perform preventive maintenance on all plant equipment.
• Perform building maintenance (air conditioning, lights, forklifts).
• Perform small repairs to prevent downtime until permanent repairs.
• Report food safety and quality issues to appropriate personnel.
• Comply with food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
