Qualifications

We have an exciting opportunity for a Plant Electrician to join our company and support our Reinbeck, Iowa location.

As the Plant Electrician for Vylor, you will focus on ensuring safe and reliable operation of plant electrical systems by performing electrical repairs, inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance in compliance with Corteva safety standards. It includes maintaining and improving electrical, controls, instrumentation, HMI, and HVAC systems; supporting capital projects; and recommending safety and process improvements. The position also manages electrical work orders, documentation, and preventive/predictive maintenance plans to minimize downtime and support continuous production.

What You’ll Do:
  • Ensure all work meets Corteva safety standards by leading safe practices, driving risk reduction efforts, and supporting incident investigations
  • Support plant operations through corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance activities
  • Create, modify, and close work orders in CMMS along with ensuring accurate documentation of labor and parts allocation
  • Provide maintenance support for capital projects while working with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure safe, effective execution, and strong communication across shifts and departments
  • Maintain the condition of the plant shop and maintenance tools
  • Utilize predictive maintenance tools to identify emerging equipment issues and develop, update, and train others on effective preventive maintenance plans
  • Assist in maintaining detailed equipment records and site/system prints
  • Plan and lead project work as needed, working with Operations to ensure maintenance activities are completed without interrupting production
  • Maintain Enterprise Asset Management system: ensure work order quality, PM plans, and provide user training/support, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain HMI systems using Rockwell FactoryTalk View SE/ME
  • Assist in estimating labor and equipment costs, maintain maintenance and repair records, and support the development, installation, inspection, and upkeep of new or upgraded mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Ensure operation of company equipment including electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, control devices, and HVAC, for process and facility
  • Perform electrical repairs and scheduled inspections of equipment, following the prescribed guidelines and procedures
  • Make recommendations for improved safety through electrical programs and/or process changes including addition of new devices, and hardware
  • Other duties as assigned
Education:
  • High School diploma/GED.
What Skills You Need:
  • Holds a valid US driver's license
  • Willing and able to work on elevated surfaces (with fall protection equipment, of course, because safety is always number one to you!)
  • Willingness and flexibility to work extended and overtime, including weekends and holidays, as needed to support business needs
Physical Job Requirements:
  • Stand and sit for extended periods
  • Work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions
  • Lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Perform work that involves repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting
  • Exposure to dust and plant allergens including but not limited to corn, sunflower, cotton, and canola pollen and protein and sorghum as well as potential mold spores and/or chemicals in the course of your duties

What Makes You Stand Out:
  • You have 2 years of experience and/or education in an Industrial Electrician/Maintenance field
  • Journeyman electrical license (May be required in some states)
  • You know how to schedule work/ and you are able to follow through to completion. on completion status. on completion status
  • You understand and can interpret the National Electric Code
  • You have a good understanding of maintaining/repairing, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, mechanical power transmission systems, HVAC systems, electrical systems, welding, and fabrication work
  • Basic process controls understanding
  • Possesses basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn, understand, and apply mechanical concepts
  • Understanding of PLC automation servers, processors, and associated control systems
