Job summary

Vylor, Inc. in York, Nebraska, seeks an Apprentice Electrician to support on-site electrical and mechanical installation and maintenance at the production facility.

You will troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and production equipment, read schematics, and maintain records, with emphasis on safety and quality. Ideal candidates have a two-year technical/associate degree in industrial electronics or related field, plus basic electrical knowledge and willingness to work 12-hour shifts

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Two-year technical or associate degree in industrial electronics or related field preferred.
  • Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts with overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, industrial machinery, and production equipment.
  • Maintain electrical and mechanical service equipment such as palletizers, conveyors, bagging equipment, bucket elevators, augers, HVAC.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
  • Complete reports and logs, maintain records on equipment.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions.
  • Follow safety rules and procedures incl. OSHA/PSMM.

In this position, you will utilize your electrical skills to perform high-level electrical and mechanical installation as well as maintenance of facilities, field and plant equipment. This critical work directly affects safety, function, longevity and overall operation of electrical and mechanical equipment at the plant.VISA Sponsorship is not available for this position.Relocation assistance not offered for this position.This role will be 100% on-site at the location.What You’ll Do:Assist in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, industrial machinery, and production equipmentAssist in performing electrical and mechanical maintenance functions necessary to maintain all service equipment (palletizers, conveyors, bagging equipment, bucket elevators, augers, HVAC, etc.)Learn, troubleshoot and maintain Process Control Systems such as Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) Human-Machine Interface (HMI) Motor Controls, etc.Accurately complete reports, logs, and maintain records on equipmentDiagnose malfunctions of defective equipment by performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing corrective actionsGain knowledge in the development, installation, and maintenance of mechanical and/or electrical equipmentExpand upon your ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and diagramsAdherence to all quality systems and safety procedures including environmental regulations OSHA and PSMMake recommendations for improved safetyVarious other duties as assignedLocation Specific Items:Ability to work 12 hour shiftsAbility to work nights or day shift including weekendsAbility to work overtime when requiredAbility to follow safety rules and regulationsWear proper PPE required for all tasksEducation:You have a High School Diploma/GED.What Skills You Need:Basic understanding of electrical systems from education or hands on experienceYou have working knowledge of electrical theory and diagnosing and troubleshooting power and electrical controls using AC and DC voltages ranging from 24V to 480V 3 Phase Motors and ControlsYou can accurately use Industrial Electronic Testing Equipment such as: Megger, Multimeter, Amp Meter, and other testing equipment as requiredYou have a valid US driver’s licenseYou possess good computer aptitude including the use of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and are willing and able to learn other company specific applications as requiredYou are willing and able to perform the physical aspects of the job with or without reasonable accommodation: climb and/or work in elevated areas, stand and sit for extended periods, work outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions, lift up to fifty (50) lbs., and perform work that involves repetitive motion and liftingYou can work independently as well as in a team environmentYou have good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsYou have high diligence, can multitask, maintain an organized workplace, and have excellent critical thinking skillsYou value health and safety!
