Job summary

Saint-Gobain seeks a qualified Plant Electrician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical power systems, electronics, and instrumentation at our Missouri facility. You will troubleshoot breakdowns and restore equipment to safe operation, supporting plant operations across multiple departments while adhering to safety policies.

Candidates should have an associate degree in Industrial Electrical Technology or equivalent experience, strong knowledge of AC systems and three-phase

• Two-year college degree (Associate’s) in Industrial Electrical Technology or equivalent training.
• Knowledge of AC electrical systems and three-phase circuits.
• Working knowledge of industrial instrumentation, installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and instrumentation loop diagrams.
• Communication skills must be high-level to clearly communicate process issues.

Job description

The Plant Electrician is responsible for providing daily preventive maintenance and repair of electrical power systems, electronic equipment, and instrumentation. This role involves troubleshooting machine breakdowns, assisting with mechanical repairs, and safely restoring equipment to proper operating condition. The position supports plant operations by providing coverage in the Loadout, Crushing, and/or Coloring departments as needed, while strictly following all safety policies and JSAs.

Compensation: $36.92-$42.07 per hour, depending on experience
Shift: 10:00pm-6:00am
*Training takes place on days (6:00am-2:00pm)

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Manufacturing plant is not temperature controlled; dust, fumes, and high noise areas are present inside plant areas. Manufacturing processes involve granules, sand, fiberglass, asphalt coating, crushed rock, and polypropylene. Noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site. Moving equipment such as forklifts, buggies, genie booms and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:Able to work an average of 40 hours per week, speak clearly, so others understand, accept criticism, deal calmly and effectively, communicate with all levels of customers, whether internal or external, sensitivity to other’s needs, and maintain a positive demeanor. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk and hear. Other physical requirements include, ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs without assistance, ability to work from various squatting, kneeling or bending positions, ability to climb ladders up to 60 feet and the ability to work with arms above head.
