Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking a hands-on Plant Electrical Maintenance Technician to keep Shady Grove operations powered and running. You’ll perform electrical installations and maintain motors, generators, switchgear, transformers, and other critical equipment across our facilities.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting to minimize downtime, performing NEC load calculations, and applying NEC/IEEE/NEMA standards daily, in a safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

  • Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and NFPA 70E as they apply to electrical work in heavy manufacturing.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Technical trade school training or equivalent practical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install and service motors, generators, transfer switches, transformers, switchgear, bus ducts, and disconnects.
  • Troubleshoot efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Perform NEC-compliant load calculations to size conductors, conduit, fuses, and breakers.
  • Apply NEC, IEEE, and NEMA standards daily.
  • Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards; follow safety procedures.

Join our teamWe’re seeking a hands-on Plant Electrical Maintenance Technician to keep Shady Grove operations powered up. You’ll perform electrical installations and maintain equipment across our facilities and at other assigned locations per direction from the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisors, the Electrical Engineer, or their representatives. You’ll also be an active contributor to Lean, 5S, and TPR programs.Role highlightsWork across three‑phase 480/12,500V systems, single‑phase branch circuits, and low‑voltage DC controls.Service and install motors, generators, transfer switches, transformers, switchgear, bus ducts, and disconnects.Troubleshoot efficiently to minimize downtime.Perform NEC‑compliant load calculations to properly size conductors, conduit, fuses, and breakers.Apply NEC, IEEE, and NEMA standards daily.Carry out additional tasks as assigned by supervision.Minimum requirementsThorough understanding of OSHA regulations and NFPA 70E as they apply to electrical work in heavy manufacturing.Valid driver’s license.Education & experienceHigh School Diploma or GED preferred.Technical trade school training and/or equivalent practical experience preferred.Minimum 2 years in heavy manufacturing, a commercial/industrial apprenticeship, or relevant military experience preferred.Preferred skillsRead and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and single‑line high‑voltage diagrams for NFPA 70E arc‑flash compliance.Read operating procedures/technical manuals and write clear routine reports and correspondence.Health & safety responsibilitiesMaintain housekeeping and 5S standards.Perform all tasks safely and wear required PPE.Follow job‑specific and facility‑wide safety procedures and rules.Participate in safety training and demonstrate competency.Report hazards, unsafe acts, and safety suggestions—or correct issues you can address safely.Working EnvironmentWorking Environment:The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Incumbent will work in a typical manufacturing environment including the use of solvents, adhesives, hydraulic oil, petroleum products, etc. There is frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds.
