Job summary

InventWood is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Frederick, MD to ensure safe and reliable operation of electrical systems and manufacturing equipment. You will install, repair, and troubleshoot electrical systems, contribute to preventive maintenance, and uphold a strong safety culture across shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains the maintenance systems in the facility.
  • Installs, repairs, and troubleshoots electrical systems.
  • Operates manufacturing equipment as needed.
  • Follows OSHA and company safety guidelines.
  • Mentors other associates and participates in training.
  • Maintains communications with facility personnel and leaders.
  • Performs reactive and preventive maintenance safely and efficiently.

General Summary / Position Purpose

Reporting to the Plant General Manager while supporting a strong safety culture, while striving to support the reliable production of innovative top-quality products for our customers. With a focus on electronic components and power systems, the Maintenance Technician will ensure the safe reliable operation of all machines/sensors that rely on electrical energy. Be engaged personally through interaction and teamwork across all functions and specialties to ensure optimal flow of materials within process reliability and financial metrics, including resolving short and long-term challenges or key opportunities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains the maintenance systems in the facility.
  • Demonstrates leadership in lock out procedure development and compliance.
  • Maintains frequent and effective communications with facility personnel and leaders, to perform maintenance duties (reactive and preventive) safely and efficiently.
  • Installs, repairs, and troubleshoots or decommissions all electrical systems.
  • Proactively identifies areas of improvement, evaluates alternatives, recommends, and implements solutions.
  • Operates manufacturing equipment as needed.
  • Follows all OSHA and other company safety guidelines.
  • Performs in a manner consistent with company Core Values.
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality of operating process/parameters/targets, when dealing with anyone that is not an InventWood team member.
  • Completes all required training and maintains certifications on schedule.
  • Stays current with their own development and is willing to mentor other associates in their development.
  • Attends all scheduled meetings.
  • Manages any stress on the job, including but not limited to meeting deadlines.
  • Provides excellent internal customer service.
  • Actively and always demonstrates teamwork.
  • Always adheres to company safety standards, and puts safety before production, such that no serious (requiring medical attention) injury occurred during the prior 12-month period.
  • Follows other policies and procedures such that there are no verbal or written warnings during the evaluation period.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 year technical diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ability to troubleshoot 480v and low voltage electrical systems, AC and DC.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting, set up, and program variable frequency speed drives.
  • Familiarity with programming, repair, and troubleshooting of Allen-Bradley/Rockwell digital electronics platforms.
  • Ability to read equipment manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Must demonstrate logical problem-solving skills and react appropriately in upset situations.
  • Skilled in use of computer and software, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluently speak, read, and write English.
  • Skilled in multi-tasking and time management.
  • Must be able to work on a regular basis during scheduled shift hours.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as operating conditions require.
  • Must be available to work evenings/weekend to meet project deadlines.
  • Works in an industrial environment at heights, in confined spaces, climb stairs and ladders and with the possibility of extreme heat or cold. .
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.
  • Vision and hearing must be within or correctable to within normal range.
  • Must be able to navigate to various departments of the organization’s physical premises.
