Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Whitehall, MI is seeking an experienced Plant Engineer to maintain facilities and equipment, from wax injection to finishing and NDI testing.

You will lead automation upgrades, TPM initiatives, and support electrical and control systems across the plant. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in electrical programming within manufacturing, with PLC/HMI expertise (Allen-Bradley, RSLogix, Studio 5000) and familiarity with SCADA/Wonderware.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 3 years of previous electrical/programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Preferred: BS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; US work authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility and equipment across all manufacturing processes from wax injection through finishing and NDI testing.
• Lead electrical/control system upgrades and automation projects; coordinate with contractors.
• Provide engineering support for internal and external projects.
• Apply TPM and continuous improvement to equipment and processes.
• Develop and troubleshoot HMI (Wonderware/Ignition) and PLC systems.
• Support NEC, NFPA 70E/79 codes in project work.
• Collaborate with automation and robot groups as needed.
