Job summary

PPG is seeking a Plant Electrical and Controls Engineer to design, install, maintain and continuously improve plant control systems, diagnosing electrical issues impacting plant operations.

You will diagnose PLC, DCS, and HMI automation issues, support instrumentation integration, and develop documentation such as P&IDs and control narratives. The base salary ranges from $80,000 to $90,000 per year, with emphasis on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field with 3-5 years of experience in electrical and/or controls engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• OR: Education/Experience: High School Diploma with 5-7 years of experience in electrical and/or controls engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in PLC programming, Experience with DCS platforms, AutoCAD Electrical or similar design tools.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and effective cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, diagnose, and resolve issues related to plant PLC, DCS, and HMI based automation systems.
• Support the integration of instrumentation systems including sensors, transmitters, flow meters, and analyzers.
• Maintain and update electrical and controls documentation including P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control narratives.
• Identify and implement automation and controls improvements to enhance process efficiency, product quality, and safety.
