Job summary

PPG is seeking a Senior PLC Engineer to design, code, test, and troubleshoot PLC systems for industrial automation. You will lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and ensure reliable operation of automated machinery.

Responsibilities include designing control architectures, writing PLC code in ladder logic and structured text, integrating HMIs, and creating detailed documentation while maintaining safety standards. Legal to work in the United States is assumed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in PLC programming and automation.
• Knowledge of PLC hardware, software, and networking.

Responsibilities

• Design control system architectures and develop PLC code for industrial applications.
• Write, test, and debug PLC code using ladder logic and structured text.
• Integrate PLC systems with sensors, actuators, and HMIs.
• Diagnose and resolve PLC hardware/software issues.
• Lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and manage timelines/budgets.
• Create technical documentation including wiring diagrams and specs.
• Ensure PLC designs meet safety standards and regulations.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency of automated processes.
