Job summary

Tate & Lyle is seeking a hands-on EHS professional to support the Plant EHS Manager, delivering technical safety and health support across the site. The role requires extensive time in the plant (50-70%), with emphasis on compliance, training, and continuous safety improvements.

Responsibilities include hazard identification, audits, incident investigations, and safety program development. Strong communication and regulatory knowledge are essential to protect employees and the environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and knowledge of OSHA/industry standards.
• 5+ years of experience in heavy manufacturing or construction.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proven competency in safety training and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficient computer skills (databases, word processing, spreadsheets).
• Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and interface with agencies.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, audit, and monitor equipment, work areas and practices for compliance with safety rules.
• Identify and implement control measures to eliminate hazards.
• Conduct new hire safety training and compliance audits.
• Track safety work orders and incidents; follow up on near misses.
• Lead safety meetings and participate in safety committee activities.
• Maintain safety signage and monthly safety metric reports.
• Analyze safety data and report findings to Plant Management.
• Assist with safety procedures updates and contractor safety programs.
