Job summary

Primary Recruiting Services has been engaged by a publicly traded power generation company to fill a newly created internal audit position on their oversight team. The seat focuses on operational and regulatory auditing of generating facilities, not financial reporting.

You will own the facility audit program from planning through reporting, perform risk assessments, design testing, conduct fieldwork on site, and report findings to site and corporate leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years in EHS compliance, industrial/plant operations, reliability engineering, or operational auditing
• Ability to scope and execute a risk-based audit independently
• Working knowledge of safety program requirements and environmental regulations
• Comfort operating in an active facility with PPE and associated hazards
• Preferred: CSP/CIH/CHMM/ISO 14001/45001 Lead Auditor/ CIA/ CPA or plant ops cert
• Preferred: SAP/Maximo or CMMS; analytics tools like Power BI

Responsibilities

• Own the facility audit program from planning through reporting
• Build quarterly risk assessments to select sites for review
• Design testing approach and conduct fieldwork on location
• Deliver findings to site and corporate stakeholders
• Serve as auditor-in-charge on projects and report to head of internal audit
• Travel roughly one week per quarter to multiple sites
