EH&S Auditor – ApexCore Technologies

This position audits and observes EHS, Fleet, and Quality processes, oversees training for field service personnel, supports long‑range environmental remediation, ensures compliance with safety and health regulations, and assists accident investigations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine site and facility inspections.
- Provide onsite safety support to field technicians and review findings with crew members.
- Oversee safety and health programs for all field service personnel following OSHA, NFPA‑70E, and customer requirements.
- Assist in hazard analysis and electrical safety.
- Assist with customer safety compliance programs.
- Assist and facilitate external partners’ safety training and periodic audits.
- Assist accident investigations and federal, state, local or customer safety investigations.
- Assist with resolution of customer inquiries regarding safety issues.
- Assist in documentation and development of standard work practices.
- Assist maintenance of Company’s environmental programs following EPA, federal, state, local and customer requirements.
- Oversee assembly of transformers and validation of quality procedures.
- Conduct quality performance audits and report deficiencies.
- Work with Quality team members to resolve onsite findings.
- Conduct asset inspections and report deficiencies.
Program Oversight
- Safety and health programs: Safety Manual, PPE Requirements, Training Program – materials and modules, behavior‑based safety program.
- Environmental programs: SPCC Program, Release reporting, Hazardous material handling and communications, DOT regulations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Relevant technical certifications in EH&S.
- Understanding of OSHA Health & Safety laws and regulations.
- Team‑oriented, fast‑paced, demanding environment.
- Self‑directed, excellent initiative and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of electric utility systems and associated equipment.
- Technical and field support operations during project execution.
- Standard Work and procedures within Field Service Business Processes.
- Strong ability to handle multiple demands with urgency, drive and energy.
- Work well under stress and deliver on time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel via plane and vehicle.
Education and Experience
- Minimum three years in construction safety, hazard recognition, accident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Rudimentary knowledge of vacuum oil processing, transformer assembly, and transformer testing.
- Technical institute degree with 5+ years of technical experience, or 5‑7 years’ experience in industrial and/or utility power delivery systems focusing on quality assurance.
- Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Health & Safety, Environmental, engineering or related field.
- Experience working in Power Generation, transmission industry.
Physical Demands
- Remain in a standing position 90% of the time.
- Travel 95% of the time to different job sites.
- Ability to work from heights up to 40 feet.
- Ability to climb, stoop, squat, kneel.
- Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time (8 hours driving, 8 hours standing).
