Job summary

Conagra Brands is seeking a skilled EHS leader at our Oakdale plant to manage environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will drive the safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and guide incident investigations while partnering across the facility to minimize risk and improve performance.

The role requires a Bachelor's in IH/Safety/EHS, at least five years of industrial safety experience (CSP preferred), and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management, Environmental Health, or Environmental Health and Safety.
• At least five years of industrial safety experience; CSP certification preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience building and leading teams.
• Thorough understanding of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
• Skill in interpreting State and Federal regulations and applying them to facility operations to ensure compliance.
• Skill in writing regulatory reports, business correspondence, and procedural documents.
• Experience conducting risk assessments and audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage EHS and sustainability programs.
• Own site environmental systems (air, wastewater, waste, permitting).
• Direct compliance and performance activities per regs and guidelines.
• Ensure environmental reports are completed on time.
• Develop training to promote accident-free workplace.
• Plan and deliver safety training for managers and staff.
• Support incident investigations and regulatory reports.
• Conduct plant inspections and audits to identify hazards.
• Facilitate the Central Safety Committee.
• Administer initial Workers' Compensation processes.
• Guide plant to meet OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations.
• Lead compliance training for OSHA/Cal/ EPA/ Conagra.
