Job summary

Conagra Brands is seeking a senior food safety leader to oversee plant quality and safety programs. You will ensure regulatory and customer requirements are met, train staff, participate in audits, and drive continuous improvement across Operations, Maintenance, Sales, and R&D.

This role anchors the Food Safety & Quality pillar in our performance system and partners with leadership to elevate product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in biology, food science, or related field.
• 5+ years of quality assurance leadership in food manufacturing or related industry.
• Experience with canning and thermal processing preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations, auditing practices, sanitation programs, and HACCP requirements.
• Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong communication, presentation, and staff development skills.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proven success building collaborative partnerships across functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead plant food safety and quality programs to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Promote adherence to good manufacturing practices and food safety standards across the facility.
• Deliver food safety and quality training programs and maintain annual training compliance.
• Partner with Operations and Maintenance to strengthen food safety and quality ownership on the production floor.
• Develop and coach quality team members while supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
• Monitor food safety and quality metrics and lead initiatives to improve plant performance.
• Investigate quality concerns and consumer complaints, implementing corrective and preventive actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and serve as the primary contact during inspections and audits.
• Maintain key quality systems, including HACCP, SQF, environmental monitoring, recall readiness, and pest control programs.
• Collaborate with Operations, Sales, and R&D to resolve quality issues and support new product launches.
• Lead the Food Safety & Quality pillar within the Conagra Performance System and drive continuous improvement.

Education
