Job summary

HTI in Belton, SC is seeking an HR/EHS Manager to support startup and growth of its manufacturing operation. The role blends Human Resources and Environmental, Health & Safety leadership with initial emphasis on plant safety, regulatory compliance, employee relations, and establishing programs for a growing workforce.

The HR/EHS Manager will be a hands-on presence on the plant floor, collaborating with plant leadership to build a proactive safety culture, support recruiting and onboarding,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in EHS, safety, HR/EHS, or related manufacturing roles.
• Hands-on safety experience in a plant environment with floor presence.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and practical safety program implementation.
• Experience with investigations, corrective actions, and workers' compensation processes.
• Experience supporting employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and HR duties.
• Strong communication, analytical, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to operate in a startup environment with evolving priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead plant EHS programs, inspections, OSHA compliance, recordkeeping, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
• Establish safe work practices in an equipment-intensive environment (LOTO, machine safety, PPE, Hazard Communication).
• Coordinate safety orientations, onboarding, and training for employees, contractors, and supervisors.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments, respirator fit testing, hearing testing, baseline testing, CPR training, and other programs.
• Lead injury investigations, determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and manage workers' comp docs.
• Maintain OSHA, safety, employee, SDS, training, and related compliance records.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, new-hire setup, and workforce growth during ramp-up.
• Partner with management to address workplace concerns and support employee relations.
