Essentia is seeking a Cost Accountant to partner with finance on analyzing production costs and identifying cost-reduction opportunities. You will work to improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency of cost data, collaborating with plant leadership and management.

The role emphasizes cost analysis, budgeting support, and continuous improvement through automation and standardized processes. Strong Excel skills and experience with cost accounting are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management preferred
• Minimum of three years accounting experience required
• Strong Excel skills required
• Intermediate PowerPoint or similar presentation software experience

Responsibilities

• Reconcile monthly inventory movements for raw material inventories
• Process requisitions and POs for plant expenses in INFOR ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Report variances and causes focusing on spending and production volume
• Lead the preparation of monthly results to senior management
• Research and periodically review cost allocation methodologies
• Streamline and automate complex cost accounting processes
• Collaborate with manufacturing leadership to understand production operations and yields
• Assist in forming the annual operating budget and support month-end duties
• Generate ad hoc reports and support cross-functional teams to reduce costs
