Job summary

Golden State Foods is seeking a cost/plant accountant to support day-to-day accounting at our Burleson, TX location. You will report to the Plant Accounting team and provide timely, GAAP-compliant financial information focused on costs, productivity and efficiency improvements for our operations.

The role emphasizes variance analysis, standard cost maintenance, and collaboration with operations to drive cost reductions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
• 1–2 years of cost or plant accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and managerial cost accounting principles.
• Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Cost accounting, budgeting concepts and techniques.
• Pricing concepts and techniques.
• Inventory control concepts and techniques.
• PC word-processing/spreadsheet software applications.
• Project/assignment management techniques.
• Ability to read and process information with high accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, prepare and evaluate detailed cost and variance analyses.
• Support operations with cost efficiencies and operating improvements.
• Perform journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare standard cost analyses and vendor price variances.
• Report on labor, manufacturing and purchasing variances.
• Other related duties as assigned.
