About the Company:

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Controller to join our team and lead financial operations at our client's manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), as well as hands-on experience in plant supervision and operational management. This role bridges finance and operations, driving cost control, productivity, and strategic decision-making at the plant level.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Controller to join our team and lead financial operations at our client's manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for the plant.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and performance reports.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting, accuracy, and insights.
• Develop KPIs and dashboards for operational and financial metrics.
• Partner with corporate finance on month-end close, audit support, and compliance.

Cost Accounting & Controls

• Oversee standard costing, inventory valuation, and cost roll-ups.
• Analyze and control manufacturing costs, including material, labor, and overhead.
• Conduct variance analysis (PPV, labor, absorption, etc.) and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure proper controls and compliance with internal policies and GAAP.
• Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to drive efficiency and cost reduction.
• Supervise and support plant administrative functions such as scheduling, procurement, and logistics (as applicable).
• Provide financial leadership in operational decisions, capacity planning, and process improvements.
• Serve as a liaison between plant operations and corporate functions.

Team Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration

• Manage, mentor, and develop a small team of finance or plant support staff.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve plant performance and profitability.
• Act as a key business partner to the Plant Manager and senior leadership.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or CPA/CMA preferred).
• 7+ years of progressive experience in plant finance, FP&A, and manufacturing supervision.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally and lead teams.
• Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives a plus.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
