Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• The Outsourced Client Controller for the technology industry provides general advisory services to clients via scheduled remote meetings regarding financial statements, cash-flow forecasts, and budgets.
• Acts as the primary contact for technology industry client engagements.
• Partners with clients or Fractional CFOs/Finance Directors to maintain relationships within the tech-innovation industry.
• Researches and shares knowledge of best practices related to each client's business concerns.
• Oversees client accounting teams to ensure expectations are met on all deliverables.
• Manages financial reporting accuracy for clients and investors.
• Provides technical accounting assistance to clients and internal teams.
• Reviews and finalizes accounting period closes.
• Analyzes and reviews financial statements, management reports, and KPIs.
• Prepares cash-flow forecasts, budgets, and assists CFO with projections and financial models.
• Prepares financial data for capital raises or due diligence data rooms.
• Works with clients to review and strengthen internal controls.
• Recommends process improvements by evaluating accounting policies and procedures.
• Manages internal team budgets and maintains performance expectations.
• Handles multiple projects of varying size and complexity, from pre-revenue startups to companies preparing for exit.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience, including financial statement preparation, in roles such as assistant controller or controller, or similar in public accounting.
• Experience as a financial controller in the technology industry is preferred.
• Experience with venture capital or private equity-backed companies is desirable but not required.
• Previous public accounting experience is preferred but not required.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Proven ability to build and manage relationships.
• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are preferred but not required.
• Experience with Sage Intacct, NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, and Bill.com is preferred.
• Ability to prioritize and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Our compensation range for this role is $103,000 to $154,000, with offers typically below the maximum to allow for future increases. Actual salary depends on various factors including location, skills, and experience.
