Job summary

Venteon is seeking a Plant Controller for a large, privately held manufacturing company in Detroit. The role focuses on the monthly preparation of financial statements and analysis, and driving process improvements in the month-end close cycle.

You will lead the month-end close, forecast activities, and work with external auditors while ensuring accurate standard cost maintenance and profitability analysis across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• MBA or CPA designation preferred or in progress.
• 7+ years of accounting/finance experience.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead role in month-end close and financial analysis.
• Main point of contact to all departments on accounting items.
• Coordinate with external auditors as needed.
• Review and oversee standard cost maintenance.
• Provide profitability analysis and key accounting/finance insights.

Our client is a large, privately held manufacturing company. They are seeking a Plant Controller to add to their growing team. The Plant Controller function includes monthly preparation of financial statements/analysis, as well as looking for process improvement in the month end close cycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES of the Plant Controller

• Plant Controller is main point of contact to all functional groups/departments on accounting and finance items in this facility
• Will have lead role in the month end close, annual forecast and financial analysis
• Work with external auditors as needed
• Review and oversight of standard cost maintenance
• Plant Controller will have detailed knowledge of profitability analysis and key accounting/finance items

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE of Plant Controller

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance required
• MBA or CPA (or parts passed towards CPA) designation preferred
• 7+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance
