Job summary

StaffBright in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking an experienced accounting professional to own plant accounting activities, close processes, and financial reporting for a growing automotive manufacturing operation.

The role emphasizes standard costing, variances, inventory accounting, budgeting and forecasting, with SAP FI/CO support and collaboration with operations and leadership; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus to support a Mexico plant.

Qualifications

• 3–4+ years of accounting experience in automotive manufacturing.
• Experience with standard costing, variances, inventory, budgeting, forecasting, and close.
• Strong understanding of plant accounting and operational financial support (P&L).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish to support a Mexico plant.
• Experience with SAP.

This is a fully onsite opportunity located in Auburn Hills, MI.

What You Will Be Doing

• Oversee plant accounting activities, including month-end close, financial reporting, and operational support.
• Manage standard costing, manufacturing variances, and inventory accounting to ensure financial accuracy.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis while partnering with operations and leadership.
• Utilize SAP FI/CO to support accounting processes, reporting, and financial controls.
• Support financial operations for a Mexico manufacturing plant, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen controls, and streamline workflows.
• Help build and develop the plant accounting function as the organization continues to grow.

What We Need From You

To be considered for this role, candidates must have the following experience and skills:

• 3–4+ years of accounting experience within the automotive industry, preferably with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 component manufacturer.
• Experience with standard costing, manufacturing variances, inventory, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close.
• Strong understanding of plant accounting and operational financial support, including P&L activities.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to support a Mexico manufacturing plant.
• Experience with SAP.

The ideal candidate will also have any or all of the following preferred experience and skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience supporting international manufacturing operations, particularly in Mexico.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with financial reporting tools and dashboards.
• Ability to navigate change and contribute to a growing, evolving organization.
• A desire to take ownership, build processes, and grow into a leadership position.
