Job summary

Adient in Georgia is seeking an experienced Plant Controller to lead all financial activities for our automotive manufacturing facility. You will partner with plant operations to drive performance and profitability through accurate reporting, budgeting and forecasting.

Key responsibilities include monthly closes, cost and inventory accounting, CapEx management, asset reporting, and SOX compliance, with collaboration across business units to support strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 8+ years of progressive Accounting and Finance experience in manufacturing.
• Automotive manufacturing and plant finance experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of cost, inventory accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and financial statement prep.
• Provide financial analysis, variance reporting and operational insights to plant leadership.
• Oversee cost and inventory accounting, including valuation, reconciliations and physical inventory controls.
• Manage fixed assets and CapEx, including CIP tracking and asset retirements.
• Develop and maintain annual budgets, forecasts and profit plans in partnership with operations.
• Ensure SOX compliance and internal control effectiveness.
• Support consolidation and financial reporting across SAP and HFM.

We are seeking an experienced Plant Controller to lead all financial activities for a manufacturing facility within the automotive industry. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, inventory management, fixed assets, and business partnering with plant operations to drive performance and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Provide financial analysis, variance reporting, and operational insights to plant leadership to support strategic decision-making.
• Oversee cost accounting and inventory accounting functions, including inventory valuation, reconciliations, variance analysis, and physical inventory controls.
• Manage fixed assets and capital expenditures (CapEx), including capitalization decisions, project tracking, CIP settlements, asset retirements, and financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain annual budgets, forecasts, and profit plans while partnering closely with operations and business units.
• Ensure compliance with SOX requirements, internal controls, corporate policies, and audit processes.
• Support consolidation activities and maintain accurate financial reporting across SAP and HFM systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 8+ years of progressive Accounting and Finance experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Automotive manufacturing experience and plant finance experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• Experience with SAP and HFM preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
