Job summary

The University of Georgia is seeking a Research Technician in the Genetics department to support plant biotechnology, tissue culture, and molecular biology research. The successful candidate will maintain plant tissue cultures, assist with genotyping and phenotyping, perform routine molecular biology procedures, and help ensure smooth daily laboratory operations in a collaborative team.

This position is full-time, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings or weekends as project

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a research laboratory with molecular biology, genetics, or microscopy.
• Familiarity with handling model organisms is desirable.
• Willingness to work M-F 8am-5pm; occasional evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Establish, maintain, and monitor plant tissue cultures.
• Design and clone vectors for plant transformation.
• Conduct genotyping and phenotyping analyses.
• Maintain lab safety and assist with inventory and operations.
